Tartine
Need a fresh holiday menu favorite for your upcoming family celebrations?
That’s exactly what I was thinking today, when I ducked into Floriole on Webster to grab la tartine du jour.
Tartines are one of my very favorite grab and gos for a boulongerie lunch. In Paris, they are sold everywhere, including one of my favorite tiny cafes, Cuisine de Bar. Right next door is the eighty year old original wood fired oven Poilâne Bakery, certainly the most famous bakery in all of Paris. Their oversize, tawny brown sourdough rounds feature an infamous ‘P’ inscription, but I love to order these with custom designs, monograms and messages, which make truly wonderful and thoughtful gifts.
Today’s beauty from the parisian Floriole is simply the perfect autumnal treat. It would be just wonderful served for a Thanksgiving weekend lunch or brunch. You may even have many of these ingredients tucked inside your fridge the day after…how easy is that?
Sourdough bread, Goat Cheese, Roasted Sweet Potato slices, Sage Pesto, and Toasted Pepitos (pumpkin seeds)…all toasted in the oven till warm and bubbly.
Fast, easy, and delicious. You too can create a bit of holiday leftover magic.
