Royal Wedding Breakfast Party as seen on ABC News

The waiting is finally over.

The Royal Wedding is just four days away.

And where will you be watching it, along with billions of other viewers
around the world?

Our very own Debi Lilly, celebrity event planner and owner of A Perfect
Event is going to be in London for the wedding.

But this morning she’s right here to share all her tips, tricks and trends
for your very own wedding party – a Royal Wedding Breakfast.

Now this is one BIG reason to throw a party – I remember waking up with my
grandmother for Lady Diana’s wedding and watching it together in the dark of
night at 4 am in Ohio…

And now we get to do it all over again – but with a beautiful breakfast
party to boot.

So phone a few girlfriends, invite them over, tell them to stay in their
pjs, and toast the happy couple at a Royal Wedding Breakfast Party.

Start by setting a bar/buffet table in Kate AND Lady Diana’s favorite color
- Wedgewood Blue – so named for an English China company dating back to the
1700s. This is from bbjlinen.com and adds a royal treatment to the table.

Add a custom royal bunting to the table by using the template on our
website, printing in color, adhering onto ribbon as a garland, and securing
to your tabletop.

For a centerpiece fit for a queen, layer in candlesticks of all shapes and
sizes, for flickering candlelight and drama on your table. You can even use
glass bottles, or wine bottles, whatever you have in your home. Tuck
British Flag, crown and crest pennants, crown pennants and more by printing
these onto cardstock at home on your computer, and taping onto a skewar.
Finally, layer in votive candles, scatter rose petals, and you have an
instant, romantic themed tablescape.

Next, design personalized cocktails. Guests love to taste something new,
and learn something fun about Kate and Wills.

Her favorite cocktail at London hotspot
Mahiki
is
their signature Pina Colada. These are colorful for spring and taste
delicious. You can premake these in pitchers and set the bar with fun fruit
mix ins for an interactive bar.

*At Public , the London club owned by the
Prince’s good friend, the Champagne Cocktail is his go to drink. Everyone
loves to toast the wedding with a little bubbly – and adding fruit as
garnish makes it perfect for breakfast.

Princess Kate’s Pina Colada

  • 3 parts dark rum
  • 1 part coconut rum
  • 2 parts lime juice
  • 2 parts pineapple juice
  • crushed ice
  • chopped pineapple and orange

Depending on the size of your pitcher, combine ingredients and shake over
crushed ice. Fill your pitcher, and then pour into glasses with fresh fruit
to include pineapple and oranges.

Wills’ Champagne Cocktail

  • 1 bag frozen raspberries, pureed in blender
  • 1 part lemon juice
  • 3 parts chilled Champagne
  • fresh raspberries

1. Puree berries until smooth.
2. Combine berry puree and lemon juice, in an ice-filled shaker and shake
vigorously.
3. Divide among champagne flutes and top with Champagne.
4. Garnish with fresh raspberries.

The English are famous for breakfast – so serving the British classics like
Bangers and Mash (sausage and mashed potatoes), Smoked Salmon and Scrambled
Eggs, Bubble and Squeek (Hash Browns with the kitchen sink of chopped veg),
Scones and Muffins with Jam and Marmalade, mini English Trifles (beautiful
layered fruit, sponge cake, spiked creams) and Figgy Puddings.

City Provisions on Wilson is my go to for all things catering – their pastry
is delicious, their salmon and deli case filled with everything you could
ever need for any party.

For dessert top cupcakes with personalized crown, british flag, and
monogrammed labels, flags and pennants. This is an instant custom design
that you can make at home on your computer, and gather the kids round the
table to assemble. These beautiful pearlized, royal wedding cupcakes are
from Swirlz in Lincoln Park. We added more of the royal flags, but this
time onto toothpicks for cupcake toppers.
