I was quite sad to say goodbye to my favorite little window seat…
Aren’t cozy built in window tables the absolute best?
I can name favorite spots in many a state and country that do these so well.
From SF to Chicago (Jane’s!) to Nan…
Have you Migas?
I hadn’t until today.
Mom’s Migas:
Soft Scrambled Eggs, Chorizo, Cotija, Crispy Corn Tortillas, Onions, Cilantro, Guacamole Salad, Pico and Black Bean Salad.
Hard to decide on entrees at Tipsy, but somehow I mustered the strength to make a decision.
Smoked BBQ Berkshire Pork Butt, Corn Spoon Bread, topped with two Fried Eggs.
Have you ever?
Brunch is forever changed.
This is major.
Warm Ricotta Salata, drizzled with honey, dressed with toasted Hazelnuts, topped with fresh Pear, and served with Grilled Toasts.
So doing for all future parties.
Tipsy Parson, meet my dream brunch. We almost missed the meal of a lifetime. You see, they had had it. We called from The Garage, and begged off our 10 a reservation for an 11. We were still only on level one, and needed to take our time. We clearly couldn’t leave there until our work was done. Then, come 11, we are still clipping through level two. So we sprinted, as fast as our sore, walked eight miles in the rain yesterday feet could carry us. We were late. Times two. And – of COURSE – we were so…Continue Reading »
Day two of togetherness with Mom and dear friend Janet. My stomach hurts. And I know just why. Two days straight of nonstop, sidesplitting, laugh out loud, girls giggling. Sun up to sun down. Isn’t that just the BEST time spent? Downtown, Soho, LES, Chelsea, Midtown… Who am I kidding – I avoid Midtown. Also two of the most valued and trusted opinions in the world – especially regarding design, trends, antiques, and stocking the shop. They once flew out just to help me on a crazy busy weekend of events, all the way from from Connecticut. I remember it…Continue Reading »
Upon entering The Garage, lower level, you are met with enchanting everything, everywhere, right at your fingertips.
Lulu’s Vintage Lovelies, first stall on the right, at your service.
Her ribbons are simply delicious.
Every color, pattern, and…
I covet Andre’s Tavern. You know the one. The REALLY charming wine crates fused with cherry red clamps stall. Accented ever so brilliantly with industrial chic lighting, along the west wall in The Garage. The Frenchman, Andre, has quite the rep on the flea market scene. Sipping red wine in one hand, cheese course for breakfast in the other, he deftly answers any and all questions about his antique corkscrew this and "oui madame" one dozen vintage apertif glasses to go svp that.
You have NEVER seen a better looking garage.
Two floors of antique everything, china, glass, vintage clothing, art, books, toys, bric a brac, and more.
So far I have blown through all my cash in a record thirty minutes, about 1/3 of the way through.

Don’t you just love wandering and windowing in cities?
Shop windows are one of my favorite treasure troves.
Walking down 25th to The Garage Flea this morning we passed this lovely.
The colors!
The patterns!
The beauty in the simplicity.
