Brick and mortar is so last year. Move aside store fronts. The new black? Army pop tents connected to vintage Airstreams, right on Spring Street. I personally love to study brilliant marketing. And Aether (as in Eee-ther) is greek mythology for the heavens, the clear sky, the substance composing all heavenly bodies. Their collection of sportswear lines the tent and Airstream in neat rows on camping hooks and industrial pipe, giving outdoor enthusiasts a fresh form of shopping, right in the great outdoors. Think Roots from Canada…whose coats I absolutely covet. Retooled with style names like Atmosphere, Cloud, Stormy… Feeling…Continue Reading »
We loved the Crosby in candy and gingerbread inside The Bar.
Complete with fruit leather Soho banner flying above the front door.
And of course Licorice Scotties scattered about on sidewalks and inside the hotel.

You have to see what lies beneath. A half doxen topiary doggies, all obediently standing in place underneath the "park" themed lobby tree. Complete with colorful silk and feathered birds, vintage glittered and/or felted birdhouses, and more. And no, there is no repeat of breed or stature throughout the pretty puppy collection. And yes, each no matter what the multi media technique is collared and tagged with a gold engraved dogbone tag, personalized with their name. The kids remember their favorites this way: Mama Pup – "Beano" Playful Pup – "Bingo" Quiet Pup – "Pup" Pop in for a stroll…Continue Reading »
It is quite impossible to type on a Blackberry when your fingers are frozen… But none the less. What words describe the cool of Christmas at The Crosby Hotel in splendid Soho… Besides the vintage black bicycles all lined up on Crosby… And the black and white vintage umbrellas lined stick straight inside the entry… And the oversize belgian sack cloth linen and crewel upholstered sofas and wing backs lined inside the lobby… And the Drawing Room! Oh my the DR – with the honors bar aside the roaring fireplace aside the industrial glass paned wall overlooking the garden… And…Continue Reading »
Wow.
Love drinking and dining atop the rooftops of NY?
Tres charmant Madison Square Park to be exact?
Love retractable roofs, opening up to sensational sunset views of The Flatiron, The Empire State Building, to name a few?
Love small plates, charcut…
Mere words cannot possibly describe Buvette.
It must be experienced.
Up close.
In person.
The charm…
The personality…
The character…
The Frenchyness…
The magic…

I swear to tell the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me. Confession: We haven’t stopped eating since I arrived in Connecticut. Now you know why I am totally and completely helplessly obsessed with food. Here, the first course, Christmas Eve dinner. Mom’s Corn Chowder with Grilled Scallops. TO DIE. And please note her darling french Quimper handpainted fish plates for the seafood course. Swoon. Followed by the second course, Dad’s Black Bean Soup with Sherry. Honestly – I had two bowls. It is beyond. Seriously. insanely delicious. The children’s…Continue Reading »
I wanted to share a sneak peek under our Christmas tree this morning… These pretty as a picture wrappings, intricately designed by none other than my mom, are always complete with tassels and ribbons, stamped tags and trims to the nines. She always takes my breath away. She’s the original. As I always say, everything I know I learned from my mother. I especially love her tags, with little thoughtful clues of what lies ahead inside the package. She makes every occasion so VERY, VERY special. …Continue Reading »
Merry merry wishes today, and always.
Cheers to your happy holiday season.
May all your Christmas dreams be wrapped up in silk ribbons and french
tassels, while surrounded by family and friends.
We designed many a custom holiday card this season. Each one was a favorite in many ways – and all were such a treat to work on. We are incredibly blessed with many clients whom we met a dozen or more years ago – and have worked with endlessly on celebrations and occasions both big and small each year. The brides that we once worked hand in hand planning and designing their wedding… morph into designing baby showers and beautiful birth announcements… transition into charming children’s birthday fetes extraordinaire… and the most happy of holiday cards featuring their sweet…Continue Reading »
