Christy + Brandon | E-session | Lincoln Park

An engagement session is one of the best ways for us to get to know our clients. We try not to over plan them and just go with the flow. This way our clients feel natural and comfortable with us. Christy and Brandon live in Lincoln Park just across from the summertime farmer’s market. They have a really awesome corner apartment with tons of natural light. We met Christy at their apartment and spent the first half hour or so just chatting and waiting for Brandon to get home from work. While we hadn’t planned on shooting in their place, we realized while we were there that Brandon had a huge obsession and passion for music and collecting vinyls from his favorite artists. (Ryan Adams and Vampire Weekend makes the top of his list which are some of our favorites too). After seeing the collection we knew we just had to shoot there. Music is such a big part of their lives together. And just in case any of you music lovers are interested, Brandon has a live music and photography blog called Bang Bang Slang which you should definitely check out. You can follow his twitter too for updates on local concerts and music gigs around the city.
Christy is a runner so we immediately hit it off as we bonded over marathon talk. She has a really fun personality and is gorgeous as you can see. You can check out her running blog here. We had a great afternoon roaming around Lincoln Park with these two and their dog, River. The light got perfect as the sun set over city which made me so happy. Christy and Brandon will be getting married at the Chicago Illuminating Company next summer and we are so excited to be their photographers!
Matt and I are excited about our New Year’s Eve wedding tomorrow night at the Blackstone Hotel. The Smilebooth will be joining us so it’s sure to be a good time! We can’t imagine a better way to bring in the new year. We are welcoming 2011 with many wonderful memories of all that 2010 brought us. Thank you to all of our friends, family and clients who have supported us! We wish you all a wonderful new year!
